No Longer Asking For Permission

Every parent, regardless of their circumstances or background, wants what’s best for their child. They’re not going to settle for something less than when it comes to their child’s education.

But, parents need to get out of asking for permission and our society needs to stop assuming their capacity to understand and use their power to support their children. Systematic change IS possible when parents come together and collectively demand better for their children.

Through workshops, training, and resources, we equip parents with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage meaningfully with educational systems. Our upcoming Parent Issues Assembly on School transportation is another way to amplify parent power.

The Issues Assembly will focus on bringing in parent voices on a larger scale and discuss real solutions to the recent unreliable school transportation they’ve experienced this school year.  While the goal is accountability, the purpose is for us to shape what that looks like.

Do we need to ask for permission to gather? Of course not, but we do need the voices and action of all parents to make change happen.
